"New GI Bill" - Update
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is now accepting applications for the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33). The application form is available on the GI Bill website.
As many of you might know a new GI Bill has been enacted into law. The "New GI Bill" also known as the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 contains many major differences from the current Montgomery GI Bill and may offer a lot more benefits to eligible Veterans. This benefit will start August 1st, 2009. No payments can be made under this program for training pursued before that date.
Please continue reviewing the GI Bill website www.gibill.va.gov for the most current information regarding this benefit. There is a pamphlet to review that discusses eligibility requirements among other important items of interest, and also a list of Q & A's that might be helpful.
